Erich Fromm, Escape from Freedom
As a supplement to the lecture Addiction in the Digital Realm, which partly draws on Erich Fromm's Analytic Social Psychology, I will give the lecture Introduction to Erich Fromm's Analytic Social Psychology for the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich. The target audience is prospective psychoanalysts, - nonetheless the lecture is public and can be listened to by anyone interested. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, will start at 9:35, will last 90 minutes, and will be given in English.

- Erich Fromm, On Method and Task of Analytical Social Psychology. Remarks on Psychoanalysis and Historical Materialism
In this lecture we will discuss what analytical social psychology is needed for and what questions it can answer. We will see how economic, ideological and psychological factors shape the social character as opposed to the individual character. For this purpose, Fromm's characterology will be introduced and, among other things, the authoritarian character. We will also discuss the resulting implications for therapy.
Those interested can register for the lecture by emailing budai@junginstitut.ch.
